Mike Weatherley, MP, intends to present a petition and raise questions in Parliament regarding rebalancing the law for landlords in respect of tenant evictions.

The eviction process is currently very time-consuming for both landlords and the courts, which are already overwhelmed with cases, and landlords are suffering significant financial loss in too many cases where there is a clear breach of contract from tenants.

Mr Weatherley intends to petition for changes in the law to speed up the eviction process where there is a clear case of either non-payment of rent or anti-social behaviour and improve the landlord’s rights to access their property in those cases.
